Special Education
BSS believes that all students can achieve success. Students are provided with enabling, inclusive, and dynamic educational experiences in the least restrictive learning environment possible. Based on the Continuous Assessment Process, we believe that early intervention, proactive program planning and ongoing support are essential to maximize student achievement.
Students with exceptional learning needs may also be supported by designated Learning Support Teachers (LSTs), in addition to classroom teachers and shared Educational Assistant supports.
In specific circumstances, a system referral for placement outside the regular classroom may be considered based on specific criteria to meet the programming needs of some exceptional learners.
