The following Plagiarism Policy will be in effect for both Junior and Senior students. Your Grade Nine year will be considered a grace period where no incidents of plagiarism will be carried over from one year to the next. All subsequent years will have their incidents of plagiarism monitored to track first and second offences.

Junior Students (9 and 10)
First Offence
Students will:

  • receive a warning.
  • redo the assignment
  • have a note sent to your other teachers
  • have a note sent home to your parents
  • have a note sent to administration to be held on file in the case of a second offence

Second Offence
Students will:

  • have a plagiarism review board review your case (made up of yourself,
  • administration and staff members)
  • receive a zero on the assignment but the assignment must be redone to meet the expectations of the course.
  • be referred to administration, where a suspension will likely occur
  • have their parents contacted


Senior Students (11 and 12)
First Offence
Students will:

  • receive a zero on the assignment but the assignment must be redone to meet the expectations of the course.
  • have a note sent to your other teachers
  • have a note sent home to your parents
  • be referred to administration, where a suspension will likely occur
  • have their parents contacted
Second Offence
Students will:
  • have a plagiarism review board review your case (made up of yourself,
  • administration and staff members)
  • receive a zero in the course and have absolutely no chance for getting the credit that
  • semester
  • be referred to administration, where a suspension will likely occur
  • have their parents contacted
