Bayside is the home to the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board secondary French Immersion program. Students entering secondary French Immersion generally have five years of elementary immersion experience (minimum 3800 hours).
Ten secondary credits (minimum 1200 hours) are required for the French Immersion Certificate. These credits include the French Immersion Language and Literature (FIF) course at grades 9, 10, 11, 12 and six other French Immersion credits.
In order to receive a French Immersion Certificate a student must successfully complete FIF 1DF, FIF 2DF, FIF 3UF, FIF 4UF and a minimum of 6 other courses offered in French.
