EQAO Literacy

Literacy Test - March 31
The Literacy test will be written on March 31 in the morning.  Students have worked hard to improve their literacy skills over the year and as a school, we have been practising reading and writing skills through our MSP and subject classes.  Below, there are links to Sample Test Booklets 1 and 2 from the EQAO website as well as answers to the multiple choice questions from these sample tests.  As well, there is a link to the Getting Ready Guide to be discussed at Tuesday’s assembly.

Athletics

Athletic Awards | May 2020

Due to school closures, we will not be able to have our Athletic Banquet. However, coaches have come up with an idea so we can still celebrate our athletes and their accomplishments. You can also see these videos on Twitter (@bssnews).

Bayside may not be the biggest school in the area when it comes to the enrolled student population, but that does not stop BSS from being the most expansive. Bayside offers a greater variety of sports than any other school. Bayside is an AA school by population, under 900, but continues to offer 34 different activities within the school. Bayside is a true AAA school - Arts, Academics and Athletics.

Academics

Bayside takes pride in providing a dynamic learning environment for close to 900 students. Through classes, co-curricular courses and community involvement, each student has a myriad of opportunities to learn, to grow and to find his or her unique balance among six key areas of school life:

academics
the arts
athletics
leadership
use of technology
service to others

The school sits on a 200 acre campus — the largest in North America — which features extensive playing fields, wooded trails, a quarry, and shoreline on the Bay of Quinte.
