School Council

Bayside's School Council is composed primarily of parents but also includes school administrators, teachers and students. The mandate for School Council is to represent the parent community of the school by acting as an advisory board to the principal and by creating a line of communication between parents and the school. Please consult the school calendar to see when meetings will be held. All parents are welcome to attend.

Our typical agendas have been wide ranging and sometimes controversial. Discussion usually includes the following topics: Curriculum and Instruction topics (homework, grading and EQAO tests), school enrolment, improvement to the school, including the new nature court and memorial and the provision of healthy food choices in the cafeteria. Your input is taken seriously by the school administration and has led to actions on their part to implement suggestions.

As always, we welcome new members to attend and assist in our deliberations. If you are unable to attend, but would like to provide input or have a question answered, a voice mailbox has been set up and is checked regularly by a parent member. To access it, simply contact the school at 966-2922, ext. 2195.

We hope you can find the time to be involved in your student’s education and join us!
